What’s it like to be a Curri driver? The pros, the challenges, and stories from real drivers
August 26, 2025

Are you a driver by profession, or looking to get into the field? Curri could be the perfect fit for you. Over the years, thousands of gig drivers and carriers have signed on to deliver for Curri, enjoying the flexibility, compensation, and freedom from being tied down to a full-time job.
So, is driving for Curri too good to be true? Here’s what it involves, what you need to sign up, and what some of our drivers are saying about their experience.
What is Curri?
Curri is an all-in-one logistics hub for distributors to deliver construction materials to job sites all across the United States. Curri offers same-day, scheduled, or rushed hotshot deliveries, as well as LTL, full truckload, and dedicated pickups. Everything distributors need for flexible, nationwide delivery coverage is in our user-friendly app.
Curri users can enjoy delivery confirmations with photos, live tracking, and flexible, nationwide coverage for long-range deliveries. Users and drivers alike enjoy the convenience, profitability, and morale that come with being a part of the Curri team.
Why drive for Curri?
When drivers sign up with Curri, they scale their operations. Drivers earn, on average, more at Curri than at other gig jobs—sometimes by as much as 10-15%. The best part is that Curri drivers set their own terms. You drive what you can carry, on a schedule that you set. Every day, Curri sends delivery opportunities to your phone, and you can accept the ones that suit you.
Curri drivers can be gig drivers, or more specialized truck carriers and couriers. Drivers can also choose to be paid out the same day or the next, so there’s never any worry about chasing invoices or waiting for compensation.
Requirements to become a construction materials driver with Curri
Here’s what you need before you download the Curri Driver app.
- You need to be at least 18 years old
- You need a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or an Employer Identification Number (EIN). You’ll also need a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
- You need to have a valid United States driver’s license.
- For your vehicle, you’ll need an active auto insurance policy that meets your state’s requirements. The cargo area of your vehicle must be cleared, clean, and ready for loading upon pickup.
Every driver will also need to successfully complete a background check. And do keep in mind that driver activation will depend on this check and your MVR checks. Onboarding, after the checks, will be based on the delivery demand of your specific area.
Signing on and getting paid
After applying and being accepted, Curri will place you on a waiting list and will notify you when there is delivery demand in your area. Make sure you have your Curri Driver App active and you’ve enabled notifications. In the app, you can document your deliveries with photos, navigate your drop-off and pickup locations, and collect your customer signatures once deliveries are completed.
Drivers, of course, are expected to be punctual, professional, and courteous. Users will rate every delivery experience as soon as it’s completed. The more exceptional service you offer, the more gig notifications you may receive through the app.
Finally, the pay! Payments to Curri drivers are typically made based on mileage and vehicle type. The longer your delivery is, the more drivers typically earn. Many Curri drivers plan their gigs strategically to maximize their profit. Accepting long-distance deliveries will earn you the most, but drivers should also consider route efficiency and fuel costs.
Working in a high-demand area, like larger cities, could lead to an increase in gigs. Curri is truly flexible from end-to-end, and if you need to “quit”, you simply need to stop accepting gigs. As a driver, you are a part of the team, but you’re also an individual contractor. There’s no need to provide a written notice if you need to slow down or stop driving with Curri. The ball is always in your court.
What our drivers are saying
Don’t take it from us, hear it from our drivers. We hire a range of drivers with different backgrounds, credentials, and skills.
Sandra is a gig driver from York, SC. She’s been driving for Curri since October 2021. She says, “I wish I had learned about this amazing company before. I absolutely love it. People always ask about pay. Most of the time, it's $50 an hour for a round trip. Pretty good money for driving, seeing the sites, and meeting some pretty cool people! Don't see myself stopping this gig anytime soon.”
Robert is also a gig driver from Fort Lauderdale, FL. According to Robert, Curri has been a reliable addition to his independent contractor business. He says, “I love the freedom to set my own schedule and work when I want. I love that Curri offers next-day transfer of pay or same-day if I so choose; I never have to wait to receive my compensation.”
Ed is a full-size pickup truck driver, and he says that we make it easy to drive for us. He told us, “Other apps make you jump through a bunch of hoops and then wait a week to get paid. The materials being transported are higher in monetary value than, say, a bag of take-out food. That in itself really brings the general level of professionalism up overall.”
Latoya drives flatbed trailer trucks for Curri, and also appreciates Curri’s flexibility and instant pay options. "I like the idea of instant pay once a delivery is completed. I also like the idea of how I play an important role in maintaining and building infrastructure. Delivering building materials gives me the opportunity to learn other industrial aspects of how this great nation is structured and built.”
And this could be you! These days, workers increasingly value flexibility and prefer to work on their own terms. And at Curri, we can appreciate that and want to help you make it happen while making it lucrative.
